The two-step ritual

Wash starts it. Balm seals it.

The Balm works on its own. It works faster alongside the Sleep Body Wash, the same scent in the bath and on the skin, repeated nightly, doubles the cue.

Questions parents ask

Before you decide.

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Nothing in the balm sedates you. It works by conditioning: the same scent, every night, in the same pre-sleep moment teaches your body that this is where the day ends. Gentler, slower, and yours to keep.

Most people feel the association forming within two to three weeks of nightly use. The mechanism is repetition, skipping nights resets the clock more than anything else.

Yes, it's made for the entire family. No sulphates, parabens or synthetic fragrance, certified organic botanicals, and gentle enough for everyone in the house: your wrists, their feet before bed, the family bath.

Pregnant or breastfeeding: the botanicals are generally well tolerated, but confirm with your GP or midwife. Sensitive skin: patch test on the inner forearm before first full use.

Herbaceous and quiet, not perfumed. Bergamot up top, lavender and chamomile through the middle, ylang ylang underneath, closer to a garden at dusk than a candle aisle. If you like the smell of lavender but hate being doused in it, this was made for you.

One person using it nightly: a 50g jar lasts around 5 months. A family of four sharing it: expect around 6 weeks.

The balm goes a long way because you only need a small amount, a fingertip-sized amount massaged into pulse points each night, not a full application like a moisturiser.

Smells nice once it's actually on your skin, but straight out of the jar it's stronger than what I'd normally go for.

Store owner replied: Thanks for the honest feedback Logan. It's a concentrated formula, so a smaller amount usually softens the scent a fair bit. Worth a try if you've still got the jar.

One jar has lasted way longer than I thought it would. The smell settles once it's on. The whole family dips into the same one.

Arrived fast. A dab melts between your fingers straight away and you really don't need more than that, I learnt to use less after the first week. The bergamot stops it smelling like straight lavender.

Working well for my son

Sleep Balm 50g

You need so little of it, that's the best bit. Warms up between your fingers in a couple of seconds. Another mum kept mentioning it so I finally caved. Came packaged nicely enough that I'd give one as a gift.

Magnesium Sleep Balm 50g

Sits on the bedside table, which is the only reason the habit has stuck, out of sight would be out of mind. Warms up in seconds with a small amount. My husband uses it after his shower before reading. Lavender, but soft about it.

Magnesium Sleep Balm 50g

Only takes a little, we figured that out fast. Wrists or feet before bed. Goes on easily and the smell doesn't overstay.

Magnesium Sleep Balm 50g

A quick step after the evening shower now. We tried the wash first and liked it enough to add the balm.
