Yes. Alongside a standard alarm, you can set an ok-to-wake light: a colour comes on at the time you choose to signal that it's morning, with no sound at all if that's what you want. You set it like an alarm in the app and pick the colour. The light holds for a short period (around 15 minutes) and then the device returns to its overnight state, or you can clear it early. With child lock off, the buttons clear it too. With child lock on, you clear it from the app. It's the feature parents use to teach "stay in bed until the light changes."

You're always in control. There are two ways to stop it. For everyday use, a timer ends the sound and light, and the device stays in standby so you can still control it from the app. In the app you can set the timer to any length up to 24 hours; using the buttons on the device you choose from the presets of 30, 60, 90, 120 or 240 minutes. To switch it off completely, there's a power switch on the back of the unit. One thing worth knowing: because the app talks to the device over Bluetooth, the device needs to be switched on at the back for the app to connect. The app can't power it on for you.

The device has 16 preset volume levels and the app mirrors them exactly, because the buttons and the app control the same hardware. 6% is the lowest level, which sits around 30 decibels, quieter than a library. Yes. The app always shows three alarm slots as a minimum. You can't delete those three, but you can switch any of them off so they don't activate. Alarms you add beyond the three can be deleted, and you can run up to seven in total.

That's the battery telling you it's depleted. Charge via the USB-C port with the supplied cable into any USB wall adaptor or computer port; the indicator glows red while charging and switches off when full (2 to 3 hours). The device plays while plugged in, so you can use it immediately.

Check Bluetooth is on, then make sure the device is powered on and within range. On Android, the app also needs location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices, that's an Android operating system rule, not us collecting anything. The device shows as HE-B006, and a BT icon appears on its screen once connected.

No, that's by design. Once you've set your sounds, stories or light, the device drops the Bluetooth connection to save battery and keeps running exactly as you set it. You don't need to stay connected for it to keep playing. When you want to change something, just reopen the app and it reconnects.
